2012 Monte Volpe PRIMO ROSSO

A blend of many old world varietals: Zinfandel, Barbera, Carignane, Petite Sirah, Sangiovese, Syrah, Negroamaro and Nebbiolo, that were grown on the hillsides of the Ukiah Valley. This wine has a dark purple-garnet color, with fruity aromas and flavors of plums, blackberry jam, spice and earth with hints of toasty oak. Rich full flavors, ample tannins and balanced acidity seamlessly carry through to a long, complex finish. Made by the Graziano Family in Mendocino County employing time honored Old World Cellar practices. Enjoy this wine with grilled steaks, pasta with forest mushroom sauce and lamb chops with rosemary sauce. 90 pts from The Wine Spectator. $11.99 the bottle, $129.50 the twelve bottle case.

La Vie Royale 2014

Proving to be incredibly popular with customers (we went through several cases last week), this oddball blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Roussanne is pretty uniquely delicious. A pale yellow in color. The crisp, citrusy vibrance of the Sauvignon Blanc is balanced by the honeyed aromas and full body of the Roussanne and we think it makes for an excellent food wine... specifically a rich seafood dish. The wine has body, yet is elegant and classy. Clear yellow with gold reflections. Very fine peach and flavored pear, apple and plum. Exotic fruit aromas, very delicate with a good freshness of white pear. Full and elegant. There isn’t a whole lot to be found out about this wine online, nevertheless it has had a very good reception with in store customers and our staff of course. From the Languedoc-Rousillon region of France (a IGP Pays D’Oc)

$9.99 for the bottle and it comes in SIX packs.
