NEW ORIN SWIFT WINES!

April 9, 2015

Well, what can we say?  Dave Phinney has done it again with his new 2013 releases of Machete and Palermo.  We also got a few magnums of the 2012 Papillon which are something to see, so hurry if you want any of these wines.  The quantities are very limited.  Please feel free to call and reserve what you want with a credit card and we will hold the wine for you until you can pick it up.  614-486-3406

2013 Machete

An opaque, purple chroma is brilliantly on display in the glass. An alluring fragrance of bright floral notes, violet juxtaposed with intriguing mountain characteristics. The entry is big, dark, and brooding with concentrated berry flavors, black cherry, mocha, and delightful earthy, brambly notes. Soft and lush, the tannins are sublime which offsets a pleasing mineral finish.  $49.99 the bottle

2013 Palermo

A dense plum, red visage brilliantly precedes the tasting. Multidimensional aromatics of cassis, currant, mulled dark fruits, and toasty barrique oak perfume the glass. Opulent and rich, the wine explodes with concentrated flavors of black cherry, ripe boysenberry, assorted dark fruits, kirsch, and a topnote of dark roasted espresso. A persuasive mid palate persists with freshness and closes with supportive tannins that are velvety and polished.  $44.99 the bottle

2012 Papillon 1.5L

A vibrant crimson is present in the glass with a claret fringe on the rim. Luring aromas of currants, mulled blackberries, French vanilla, and exotic spices serve as an intriguing precursor to tasting. The opening is dense and powerful with extracted blue and red fruit flavors which leads to beguiling cassis, plum, and a hint of mocha later. The tannins are already so soft and suave which lends to early appeal and cellaring if one so chooses.  $179.99 the magnum
