I do like them big as anyone who has read these missives knows. They last longer, are a true conversation piece, and I love when people show them off. I am talking about big bottles you silly thing. I have just been offered four 3-liters of 2010 Massimago Amarone della Valpolicella. This is a great Amarone from the top-rated consorzia of the region. It has just been released but The International Wine Report wrote this:

“The 2010 Massimago Amarone della Valpolicella is a blend of 70% Corvina, 15% Corvinone and Rondinella from 50-year-old vines planted to marly limestone and clay soils. The wine itself is dark and brooding and constantly evolves with each second in the glass. This Amarone is layered with a ton of dark fruits, exotic spices, chili powder, chocolate and licorice, which are just some of the nuances that this offers. It possesses a gorgeous round, voluptuous texture, with impressive power and intensity from start to the massive finish. There is so much to like here and this should have no issues holding up for well over a decade.” 95 points

The price for this “collector’s wine” $300 and it comes in a wood-box. Let me know. Thanks! rog
